Lately, I read an article which is about small tricks that will make you feel happier, according to therapists. The tricks are so easy, so I want to share with.
The simple ways are from therapists share what they tell their clients and what they do for themselves to chin themselves up.
1.Get out for some self-care.
Like go for a walk, jog, stretch… whatever is good for you and your body. Listen to songs or watch a movie/tv show that elicits an emotional response.
2.Feel all of your emotions.
When you are feeling a little down, please allow yourself to feel exactly the way you do. To see the unwanted, negative emotions as information. Understanding the feeling as a call to action can help us to identify what steps to take to help ourselves feel better.
3.Use your imagination
Imagination can serve you well if you use it in upbeat ways. The mental images can program your subconscious mind to comply with your conscious thoughts.
4.Talk to yourself like you would a child.
Would you scold a child so harsh, if they were to make same mistake? If not, try being more gentle toward yourself by imagining you were to react to another person -a naive child.
5.Get some sleep
Try to call it the day a little earlier when you can’t help feeling down. Sleep it over, you will probably feel at least a litter better in the morning. In the evening, our hormone levels responsible for happiness getting low, as we’re not preparing for activity, but rest. Sleep enough enables yourself to produce more happy hormone in the morning.
6.Ask yourself why you are feeling down
Ask yourself why you are feeling down and pull out a sheet called”checklist of cognitive distortions”. Once you identify the cognitive distortions, you do the complete opposite positive things to redirect.
7.Organize and clean up the house
Decluttering drawer, or just cleaning, organizing and making up one part of your place. Clean the front door and add a cheerful welcome mat, so the first thing you see uplift your spirits very quickly.
8.Dress the part
When you look good, you feel good. There is something about looking in the mirror and liking what you see. It's affirming, and it makes taking up space easier. You may even elicit compliments and those always feel good.
9.Use essential oils
Different smells can remind us of different things and change our mood. There are a multitude of essential oils out there that have numerous, different benefits.
10. Wake up earlier
Get up a little earlir becasue, by sleeping in , we sometimes start teh day feelign groggy or in shame. Simply getting up even 15 minutes earlier makes us feel more in charge of our lives and our schedules.
